Ph.D. Patent Practitioner
Our client, an Intellectual Property Boutique in Texas, that helps innovative tech companies engaged in substantial research and development, came to us with a unique challenge. They needed to add a Patent Practitioner to their team that had a Ph.D. in Physics or Electrical Engineering and could travel for up to 2 weeks a month between their offices in Texas and their client’s headquarters in Silicon Valley.
After a thorough discussion of their needs and expectations, we were retained to conduct a nationwide search for the right candidate. We developed a search plan which included candidates from 21 states and 60 cities. Simultaneously, we worked with the client’s marketing team to develop messaging and collateral information that we could distribute to interested candidates.
Armed with a powerful pitch, we systematically reached out to every name of the list, and had dozens of conversations about our client, their opportunity and how it could make a positive impact on the potential candidate’s career.
Eight weeks after we started the search, our client was able to extend an offer to a Patent Practitioner, with a Ph.D. in Physics, who was previously with an AmLaw 200 law firm in Southern California.
Not only were we able to deliver results for our client, but we also made a substantial impact on the candidate’s career and quality of life. Receiving an increase in compensation coupled with the lower cost of living in Texas, effectively increased their compensation by over 50%.
