Jim LaRosa, Esq
Principal & Co-Founder, JURISolutions; President & Managing Director, JSL Legal Search Group
After graduating Villanova Law School in 1990, Jim practiced as a litigator until 1997, when he co-founded JURISolutions Legal (JSL), one of the nation’s first, and now one of the nation’s oldest, legal placement firms focused on placing experienced attorneys in long-term, substantive level, contract positions with law firms and corporate legal departments. While substantive level contract attorney placements are now more accepted and commonplace, in 1997, this legal services delivery model was viewed as both innovative and disruptive.
For the past 20+ years, Jim has helped lead the evolution of JSL and has overseen the growth of its divisions, including its permanent search division and its attorney document review staffing division. In 2018, JSL acquired Link Legal Search Group to enhance its permanent legal search division and strengthen its retained search capabilities with law firms and corporate legal departments.
Under Jim’s leadership, JSL was the first, and remains the only, legal placement firm to ever be endorsed by the Philadelphia Bar Association (PBA). Through this affiliation with the PBA, Jim has developed and implemented significant new initiatives for the PBA’s Career Planning and Placement office, published 60+ articles for the Philadelphia Bar Reporter’s monthly column (Career Corner), and participated in numerous panel discussions and podcasts.
Jim has also published articles regarding the legal profession and has spoken about changes in the legal services industry, including the emergence of alternative legal service models.
Jim is currently the Vice Chairman for the Professional-Managerial Section Council of the American Staffing Association. He was previously the Chair of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Central Philadelphia and has been a board member for several other volunteer organizations. Jim also coached girl’s travel softball for 8 years and coached girl’s soccer, basketball, and in-town softball for 12 years. He currently lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife of 25+ years and two daughters.
Christopher A. Lins, Esq
Director & Senior Legal Search Consultant
Chris received his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2011 and his B.A. in Political Science from Washington and Lee University in 2006. He began his career as a Pennsylvania and New Jersey barred attorney with a mixed practice that was comprised of commercial and construction litigation, as well as election and campaign finance law. While working as in-house counsel for a prominent Philadelphia law firm, he also designed referral departments.
Chris joined JURISolutions Legal (JSL) in 2015 and, in his role, he has been able to successfully apply his legal background, contacts, and analytical models to help legal departments and law firms find the right candidates for their organizational needs. Chris has placed dozens of attorneys in Associate, Partner, and In-House Counsel roles.
Chris lives in the Philadelphia area, where he serves on the Philadelphia Republican Party Executive Committee and as the 9th Ward Leader of the Chestnut Hill neighborhood.
Mellisa Kuzmanic
Senior Attorney Recruitment Consultant
Mellisa earned her B.A. in International Business Communications from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She has been in the recruitment field for approximately five years, and most of her career in recruiting so far has been focused on executive permanent placement roles within the call center space. She has a strong passion for helping others realize their potential.
Mellisa’s background includes a mix of experience in both the corporate and non-profit arenas. She worked as a Director of Development for an organization that provided couseling and resources for individuals and families struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues and also served on the organization’s Board of Directors.
Mellisa lives in Arizona. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two boys, husband, and puppy outdoors (as much as possible when it is cool). Mellisa is well travelled, having lived and worked abroad, and speaks a second language.
